Enhancing your home’s energy efficiency isn’t just beneficial for the environment and conserving natural resources; it’s also a smart financial decision. Energy-efficient upgrades do more than just lower your utility bills—they can also qualify you for rebates and incentives, putting extra money back in your pocket.

Significant updates have been made to the Enbridge & Union Gas Rebates programs, so it’s crucial to stay informed to make the best choices for your home upgrades. The 2024 Energy Efficiency Rebates & Incentives Program in Ontario is tailored for residential homeowners.

At GTA Restore, we streamline the audit process for clients looking to upgrade their Heating, Air Conditioning, and Water Heating systems through our Residential HVAC Services. We ensure that a home energy assessment is scheduled before your project begins. This initial assessment helps identify areas where energy-saving improvements, known as retrofits, can be made to reduce your energy consumption and lower your utility bills.

2024 Guide to Enbridge Energy Rebates: Eligibility, Expenses, and Timeline

Wondering if your efficiency upgrades qualify for rebates? Curious about the associated costs and timelines for applying and receiving your upgrades? We’ve got the information you need.

  • To qualify for incentives, you must install at least two of the recommended upgrades listed below.
  • The cost for both the initial and follow-up energy audits is around $600 plus HTS. Enbridge will reimburse this upfront audit fee upon approval. Keep in mind that the cost of home energy assessments may vary among Enbridge Service Organizations.
  • The energy assessment process typically takes between 2.5 to 3 hours in total, with the pre-assessment lasting 1.5 to 2 hours and the post-assessment taking about 1 hour.
  • Air sealing cannot be used as one of the mandatory first or second upgrades; it can only be included as a third measure. Homeowners have the discretion to choose which upgrades to install. While upgrades like air sealing and draft proofing can be done by the homeowner, major upgrades such as furnace or boiler replacements must be installed by a licensed HVAC contractor.
  • Only detached, semi-detached, row houses, and mobile homes on a permanent foundation are eligible for energy rebates.
